Canteen at London Transport Museum

London Transport Museum’s cafe bar, Canteen, offers an all-day menu from high street favourite Benugo that features British classics, from a full English breakfast skillet to bangers and mash, salads and sandwiches, and a special menu for children which includes train-shaped pasta.

It is named after the static and mobile canteens that used to cater for London Transport workers during the 1940s and 1950s and celebrates London Transport's design legacy with moquette seats, original posters and maps plus real tiles, seats and signs reclaimed from the Underground.

Situated in the main Museum, the Lower Deck ice cream cafe offers a selection of English homemade gelato, frozen yoghurt and milkshakes with a variety of toppings and sauces. Parents can relax with an award-winning coffee from our trained baristas, while keeping an eye on the little ones. The Lower Deck cafe also offers a range of freshly made sandwiches, snacks and hot and cold drinks. Lunchboxes are also available for children, choose any four items and get cucumber and carrot sticks for free.

Canteen LTM

Overlooking the gorgeous Covent Garden Piazza, Canteen is open to the public and to Museum visitors for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as pre-theatre dining, nibbles and drinks at the bar, including signature cocktails that pay homage to iconic moments in the development of London’s transport network - the Routemaster and the Elizabeth line.

Picnic Area

In addition to Canteen and Lower Deck cafe, the Museum has a small indoor picnic area where visitors can eat their own packed lunches.
