The History of Neal's Yard
Named after the 17th-century property developer, Thomas Neale, the once hidden storage area with little appeal had its modern identity shaped in the 1970s when visionary entrepreneurs transformed the derelict space into the thriving hub it is now known as.
In 1976, environmentalist and entrepreneur, Nicholas Saunders purchased on of the empty warehouses with a vision to create a communal, health-focused hub centred around sustainable living and natural foods.

The Barbary
Bringing culture, heritage and exotic dishes to iconic Neal’s Yard the award winning, The Barbary takes inspiration from the 16th Century Barbary Coast. The menu changes seasonally and is cooked with fire from grilling on coals and baking in clay ovens.
